What we need

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our Solutions Proposal Engineering team within our Products and Solutions organization. Your job will be to design, engineer, and deliver high-value warehouse automation solutions that meet customer needs and drive commercial success. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and customers to develop scalable, data-driven automation strategies for complex supply chain environments.

What we do

The Solutions Proposal Engineering Team is part of the Products and Solutions organization, which is responsible for developing, configuring, and presenting Symbotic's automation solutions to customers. We partner closely with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to create accurate, scalable, and competitive system designs that support customer engagements, proposal development, and business growth.

What you'll do

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop integrated warehouse automation solutions for customer facilities.

  • Design, engineer, and configure automation systems, including warehouse layouts using tools such as AutoCAD.

  • Analyze customer operational data, build models, and appropriately size automation systems to support business objectives.

  • Translate customer business requirements into hardware, software, and system-level recommendations that optimize warehouse performance.

  • Support proposal development activities, including system configuration, pricing inputs, business case analysis, and executive-level customer deliverables.

  • Present technical solutions to customers and senior stakeholders, addressing technical questions and influencing solution direction.

  • Travel to customer sites and Symbotic locations as needed to support customer engagements and proposal activities (up to 30% travel).

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Science, Business, or a related discipline; Master's degree or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in solutions engineering, supply chain automation, automated material handling, or a related technical environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with data modeling, financial analysis, and advanced Excel; experience with SQL, PowerPivot, and/or Access preferred.

  • Experience developing business cases, customer-facing proposals, and executive-level presentations or deliverables.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or influence cross-functional teams and manage complex technical proposals or projects.

  • Experience with warehouse automation systems, material handling solutions, or robotic picking technologies preferred.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including customers and senior executives.

  • Up to30%of travel may berequired. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employeeis responsible forowning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $125,000.00 - $171,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
