Job Title: Data Center Analyst
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Employment Type: Contract (18 months)
Industry: Banking
Compensation: $38.00 /hr.
Schedule: 40 hrs/Week. - (1st shift)
About the Opportunity:
  • Responsible for the effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware-related infrastructure.
  • Ensures Data Center standards are complied with, and policies and procedures are followed as outlined.
  • Interpret and refine project requirements through active written and verbal communication with engineering staff and other non-technical team members.
  • Assign appropriate rack space, infrastructure cables and ports, LAN switch ports, and management switch ports.
  • Accept delivery and pick-up of equipment, staging equipment for installation and pick-up, and proper handling of shipping documents.

What You'll Do:
  • Install and remove routers, switches, servers, security appliances, and other equipment, as well as copper cable, fiber cable, racks, patch panels, and other infrastructure components commonly found in a data center environment.
  • Engage with the project team to ensure all projects are implemented in step with documented processes, procedures, and standards, and with minimal impact to the business.
  • Develop and maintain adequate documentation to allow peer review before implementation and to ensure efficiency of future maintenance activities.
  • Interact with others to clearly explain technical requirements, instructions, and status through written and verbal communication with individuals of varied technical knowledge and at all organizational levels.
  • Complete evening responsibilities as scheduled, as well as 24x7 on-call as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the client's brand.
  • Maintain client internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in providing updates and statuses.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in communicating technical problems to management.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Data Center Cabling.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Data Center Operations.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Data Center Documentation.
