UW Medicine Enterprise-Wide Revenue Cycle Operations has an outstanding opportunity for a Financial Clearance Program Operations Analyst

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine Enterprise Wide Revenue Cycle Operations supports all of UW Medicine Patient Access, Hospital Billing, Finance and other related operations that use Epic software in the creation of patient scheduling events, registration, and data collection for billing and account maintenance. UW Medicine is comprised of UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, UW School of Medicine, and UW Physicians Network. This group is responsible for project development and implementations of new systems and tools as well as ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure of Patient Access applications which support these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission of patient care, research and teaching.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Financial Clearance Program Operational Analyst is responsible for working on issue resolution and workflow optimization and development requiring a broad knowledge of all aspects of Patient Access workflows, and assigned applications and tools, such as Epic, Optum/AccuReg, in addition they must be able to understand the impact to other systems that interact within the workflow and other related Patient Access systems.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primary responsibility for this role is Financial Clearance workflow development, optimization, and documentation.
  • Analyze business processes and procedures with a focus on operational system enhancement opportunities to ensure the tools are maximized for business use
  • Proactively review and evaluate system updates and coordinate upgrade implementation, including analysis, system development, operational workflow development, using operations and IT input and involvement through testing and implementation to ensure success
  • Ensure systems and tools support Patient Access processes and result in the input of the highest quality of data required to produce clean claims and reduce denials.
  • Define and document customer requirements.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain systems, promptly report any issues to the Financial Clearance WQ Business Systems Analyst.
  • Perform problem resolution.
  • Develop and maintain QA documentation.
  • Identify error patterns and recommend training or revised workflows.
  • Provide regular status reporting.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
  • At least four-six (4-6) years in Patient Access positions as a strong subject-matter-expert or other similar position where analysis and problem solving skills have been demonstrated
  • Working knowledge of Epic Prelude, Referrals/Auth-Cert, Grand Central, Prelude, Cadence/Scheduling, hospital billing systems, and other hardware and software systems related to Patient Access.
  • Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement
