What are Solar Sales?

Solar sales professionals are individuals who specialize in selling solar energy systems and products to residential, commercial, or industrial customers. Their main responsibilities include educating potential clients about the benefits of solar power, evaluating customer needs, creating proposals, and guiding clients through the installation process. Solar sales representatives often work for solar installation companies or manufacturers, and need to stay updated on the latest solar technology, incentives, and financing options. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential in this role.

The role requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to work independently, with job prospects generally tied to industry growth and regional demand for solar energy solutions.

What Do You Do in Solar Sales?

In a solar sales job, you connect with potential customers to try to sell solar systems products, such as solar panels, solar roof shingles, and solar battery arrays. Your responsibilities are to consult with leads about their energy needs and suggest solar equipment that can improve their quality of life or lower their energy bill. You then educate prospective clients about these solar products, including the advantages and disadvantages of different solar technology systems. Your duties also include conducting an inspection of their property and providing a price quote for the installation of solar technology.
