What is a solar recruiter?

Solar Recruiters are human resources professionals who specialize in sourcing, screening, and hiring candidates for positions in the solar energy industry. They work with solar companies to fill roles such as solar installers, engineers, project managers, and sales representatives. Solar Recruiters understand the technical and regulatory requirements of the industry, helping companies find qualified talent to support the growth of renewable energy. They may also assist with onboarding and workforce planning to ensure teams are equipped for various solar projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a solar recruiter?

To thrive as a Solar Recruiter, you need a strong understanding of the solar industry, talent acquisition strategies, and experience in sourcing and evaluating candidates, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and HR software is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and adaptability help build relationships with candidates and hiring managers. These skills ensure effective recruitment of top talent, meeting organizational needs in the rapidly growing solar sector.

What are some typical challenges solar recruiters face when sourcing candidates, and how can these be addressed?

Solar Recruiters often encounter challenges such as a limited talent pool with specific technical skills, high competition from other renewable energy companies, and the need to stay updated on evolving industry standards. To address these, recruiters can build strong relationships with technical schools, participate in industry networking events, and maintain a proactive talent pipeline. Collaborating closely with hiring managers and staying informed about the latest solar technologies also helps in attracting qualified candidates.

Location: Local Market | In-Person
Compensation: Performance-Based | $70,000–$120,000+
Schedule: Full-Time | Set Work Days
Experience: Sales, Recruiting, or Team Leadership Preferred
Who We Are

Housebuildr is a systems-driven solar organization focused on scalable growth. We don’t rely on job boards alone — we build teams through leadership, recruiting, and field development.
This role is designed for someone who wants to build people, not just sell.
The Role

As a Solar Recruiting & Field Coordinator, your responsibility is to help grow and stabilize the local market team.
You will:
  • Assist with recruiting setters and entry-level reps
  • Conduct initial screenings and onboarding support
  • Help train and deploy new reps in the field
  • Track attendance, activity, and performance
  • Support daily execution standards and accountability
  • Work closely with Market Leadership
This is a hands-on role — part recruiting, part field support, part leadership development.
Who This Is For

This role is a strong fit if you:
  • Have sales or recruiting experience
  • Are organized and detail-oriented
  • Communicate clearly and confidently
  • Can hold standards and expectations
  • Want to grow into leadership or market management
You do not need solar experience — systems and training are provided.
Training & Advancement

  • Structured onboarding and leadership training
  • Direct mentorship from Market Directors
  • Clear path to:
    • Recruiter Lead
    • Team Lead
    • Market Director
Advancement is performance-based, not time-based.
Compensation Structure

  • Paid per hire and performance milestones
  • Team production bonuses
  • Long-term growth tied to market success
  • Strong earners consistently hit $6k–$10k/month

Why Housebuildr

  • Clear systems and expectations
  • Real leadership development
  • No guessing, no chaos
  • A culture built on ownership and execution
