Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Area Manager to support residential solar projects in and around Richmond, VA. You will lead and oversee residential solar construction operations in your designated region, ensuring the successful implementation of solar installation, team management, and operational excellence. This is a pivotal role for a dynamic leader with a passion for renewable energy and a proven track record in management. This is a salaried position with monthly bonus opportunities for leading your teams to complete quality and efficient residential solar installations.

Job Description:
  • Recruit, train, and manage high-performing installation crews, electricians, technicians, and warehouse staff.
  • Ensure on-time, high-quality solar installations in line with safety standards, company procedures, budget, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive continuous improvements in installation timelines, quality, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
  • Champion safety and ensure teams adhere to OSHA standards and the company’s safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Resolve escalated customer or job site issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Manage team schedules and pay reviews.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with crew members, field leadership, and customers.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement to Set the Standard in residential solar.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • 3+ years experience in residential solar or construction
  • 2+ years in leadership role with proven ability to lead field teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments
  • Strong working knowledge of solar installation processes, electrical systems, and local building codes
  • Knowledge and understanding of NEC code with proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings for accurate installations
  • Management experience with success in recruiting, personnel development, leading teams to achieve KPI success, and setting high standards
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to travel within the region with valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly
