We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This position manages the Engineering Services and Quality Assurance (QA) teams supporting the development and construction of major company owned solar projects from 20 to 800 MWAC.   The engineering team provides support to project teams across the solar project lifecycle, including front end civil, mechanical, and electrical design reviews; energy modeling; Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract scope of work and specifications; active construction engineering support; regulatory compliance; performance test evaluations; commissioning and turnover to Operations; and material vendor evaluations.  The QA team is responsible for ensuring EPC compliance with quality assurance and control plans and ensuring solar generation facilities are built to company specifications and standards.  


This is a lead management role on the Solar Project Construction team for major complex solar projects exceeding $100M capital expenditures per project. This position will work collaboratively with Dominion Energy operations, regulatory compliance, engineering, interconnection, environmental, contracts, legal, and other department managers and staff to support the execution of projects delivered on time and on budget.   


This position is responsible for facilitating a team environment to define scope, schedule, and costs and will participate in defining the overall implementation strategy of projects. This position will provide executive updates and progress reports as directed and be responsible for developing the staffing plan to meet team objectives. This position is expected to have a staff including direct reports, contractors, and matrixed employees.   Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:


   Demonstrated leadership skills
   8+ years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in engineering, project management, and construction of large projects 
   Knowledge of industrial safety, construction processes, electric generation design/ construction / commissioning, construction contracting.  
   Strong technical, analytical, and negotiation skills. 
   Excellent communication and people skills.  Ability to communicate across multi-functional teams
   Skilled in use of computer including Microsoft applications, scheduling programs, spreadsheets, databases, and project management applications. 
   Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams and projects through the implementation phase to closure.  
   Ability to utilize project metrics to effectively monitor project progress and identify areas for improvement and/or implement mitigants to project impacts. 
   Ability to interpret contract requirements and conditions.  Ability to achieve results by influencing others. 
   Ability to compile, interpret, and present data to senior management.

Working conditions will include a combination of office and field work. Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

$131800 - $171200

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and work location. This is not intended to represent the full salary range for the position or limit future compensation growth.
