Job description

Sunstall Inc is a rapidly growing commercial solar construction company specializing in the mechanical installation of utility-scale ground-mount solar projects throughout the United States. We are committed to delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule while fostering a positive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Supervisor to oversee field operations and lead project teams in the safe, efficient, and quality-driven execution of mechanical solar construction activities.

Position Summary

The Solar Project Supervisor is responsible for the overall field leadership of assigned projects. This role oversees daily site operations, supervises field personnel, coordinates with project management and other contractors, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.

The Project Supervisor serves as the primary field representative for Sunstall and is responsible for promoting a culture of safety, quality workmanship, accountability, and teamwork.

Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management

  • Lead by example while promoting Sunstall's core values of safety, quality, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Supervise Lead Foremen, Foremen, Lead Installers, and field crews.
  • Plan daily work activities and assign labor and equipment to maximize productivity.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop field employees through ongoing training and constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety, attendance, quality, and performance expectations.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and retaining qualified field personnel.
  • Provide employee performance feedback to the Project Manager.

Project Execution

  • Manage daily field operations for utility-scale mechanical solar construction projects.
  • Coordinate project activities with the Project Manager, General Contractor, Owner, and other trades.
  • Ensure work is performed according to project drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust labor and equipment resources to maintain production goals.
  • Identify potential schedule impacts or project risks and communicate solutions proactively.
  • Ensure project scope changes are documented and approved before additional work is performed.
  • Maintain organized and efficient workflow throughout the project lifecycle.

Safety & Compliance

  • Act as the site's safety leader and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific requirements.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all required safety documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Support accident investigations and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Quality Control

  • Oversee daily quality inspections throughout all phases of mechanical installation.
  • Verify work meets project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Coordinate corrective actions for deficiencies and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support project punch list completion and final turnover activities.

Equipment, Materials & Logistics

  • Coordinate equipment utilization and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure heavy equipment, pile driving equipment, tools, and rental equipment are properly inspected, maintained, and documented.
  • Monitor material deliveries, inventory, storage, and handling.
  • Coordinate site logistics to maintain efficient production.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, waste disposal, and recycling throughout the project.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate daily and weekly reports, including:
    • Production
    • Labor

    • Progress updates
  • Maintain project documentation and field records.
  • Coordinate employee travel, lodging, and transportation as required.
  • Administer employee coaching, corrective actions, and disciplinary documentation when necessary.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and project efficiency.
  • Recommend process improvements that reduce waste and improve project performance.
  • Support company initiatives focused on operational excellence and sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of utility-scale or commercial solar construction experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or field management experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical ground-mount solar construction.
  • Experience managing multiple field crews.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (required).
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer applications (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar).

  • Willingness to travel nationwide for project assignments.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation

Pay: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
