Commercial and Residential Solar PV Designer / Electrical Engineer (PE)

Location: Chandler, AZ

Job Type:Full-time | Early-Career to Experienced |Solar + Construction

We're eagerly hiring a Solar PV Designer and Electrical Engineer (PE) to support commercial and residential solar and energy storage projects plus supervise a small, experienced residential design team. For the right candidate, this critical role blends engineering, field coordination, and project leadership-perfect for a motivated candidate (including early-career PEs) who wants fast growth and real responsibility within the solar industry. We welcome all skill levels of design candidates to apply!


What You'll Do (as Applicable to Your Skill Level)

  • Create electrical and permit ready system designs for commercial and residential solar and energy storage projects.
  • Supervise an experienced residential solar design team.
  • Stamp drawings within your competency, preferred but not required
  • Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, GCs and building owners
  • Review plans, specifications, and submittals, research electrical and solar components for projects.
  • Support scheduling, budgeting, and procurement (potential Project Management track).
  • Perform site walks attend design related customer meetings.
  • Ensure NEC, utility and AHJ compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 0-5 years of electrical engineering experience (open to early-career candidates).
  • Experience in solar or electrical construction (internships count).
  • Ability to read electrical plans and construction documents.
  • Experience with solar design tools (AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVsyst)
  • Preferred but not required:
  • Field or Project Management experience, prior team leadership or mentoring.
  • PE license (any state) or the ability to obtain an AZ PE within 6 months.

The Details

This is a full-time 40 hours per week exempt status in-person role based in Chandler, AZ. Office hours can be flexible but should fall within a widow of M-F 6:30 am to 5 pm with some adjustments needed for scheduled meetings. Background checks and drug screens (excluding THC) will be performed on all final candidates. Employment eligibility verified through E-Verify. We will consider candidates open to relocation to the Phoenix Metro area.
