Job description

We are a MEP Engineering firm located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and currently seeking a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER and an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. Our Electrical Engineers are responsible for designing building Electrical systems and producing electrical construction documentation for commercial and institutional projects, with an emphasis on educational facilities.

Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for:

Design of Electrical Systems to include:

  • Medium to low voltage power distribution
  • Emergency power generation and distribution
  • Lighting and lighting control design.
  • Low Voltage Systems, including Fire Alarm, Security and TeleCommunications.
  • Short Circuit and Coordination Studies
  • Interact with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to review, define and design to meet customer requirements.
  • Candidates need to be highly self-directed and capable of running multiple concurrent projects with minimal direction. We are looking for talented individuals who can effectively manage their time and workload to complete work timely.
  • Develop Client Relationships.
  • Knowledge of Building and Energy codes.

Candidate Background

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in MEP Electrical Engineer designing in MEP projects for ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER
  • 7+ years of experience in MEP Electrical Engineer designing in MEP projects for SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER
  • Experience and understanding of REVIT designer software, including AutoCAD.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license a plus, but not required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful Client relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fact-paced multi-discipline environment.
  • Confident, self-starter, with a positive attitude with colleagues and clients.
