Job description

Solar Sales Representative

Commission-Only • Uncapped Earning Potential

Brooklyn SolarWorks  |  New York City (Five Boroughs) |  Full-Time, W-2

About Brooklyn SolarWorks

Brooklyn SolarWorks is a mission-driven residential solar company making rooftop solar accessible across New York City. We design and install custom solar solutions for NYC homeowners, and we’re growing fast. Our sales team is the engine behind that growth.

The Opportunity

This is a true sales role for a true salesperson. Your commission is uncapped — there is no ceiling on what you can earn. Every deal you close adds directly to your income, and the best consultants on our team are rewarded accordingly. If you’re motivated by performance, energized by closing, and want your effort to translate into unlimited earning potential, this is the seat for you.

We sell a product people genuinely want, in a market that’s only expanding. You bring the drive; we provide the lead support, training, product, and a back office that lets you focus on selling.

What You’ll Do

  • Meet with NYC homeowners to assess their solar needs and present customized solutions
  • Manage your pipeline from first conversation through signed contract
  • Generate and develop your own leads while working company-provided opportunities
  • Guide homeowners through pricing, financing, and the path to installation
  • Represent Brooklyn SolarWorks professionally in the field and in the community

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven closer who thrives in a commission-driven environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with your time and pipeline
  • Comfortable working in the field across the five boroughs
  • Prior in-home, outside, or solar/home-improvement sales experience is a plus, but we’ll consider the right driven candidate
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Brooklyn SolarWorks currently does not offer visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a commission-only, W-2 position with uncapped earning potential. Our consultants earn commissions paid across project milestones — booking, installation, and final utility approval — plus a $1,000 lead generation bonus for every deal you book. Top performers on our team consistently earn six figures; motivated first-year consultants typically land in the $60,000–$80,000+ range.
Because we believe everyone deserves a baseline, Brooklyn SolarWorks guarantees you'll always earn at least the applicable New York City minimum wage for all hours worked in any week where commissions fall short. In practice, closers rarely see it — but it's there.
As a W-2 employee, you're benefits eligible, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) participation
  • Paid company holidays
  • Paid sick and safe leave under NYC and New York State law, plus New York State Paid Family Leave

Full commission terms are set forth in our Outside Sales Consultant Commission Agreement, provided at offer.

Equal Opportunity

Brooklyn SolarWorks is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with the New York State and New York City Human Rights Laws. We do not discriminate on the basis of any characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
