  • Support bench, vehicle, and test-environment readiness to ensure the team can execute validation effectively across programs and hardware configurations.
  • Help shape practical, scalable processes for traceability, test ownership, reporting, and cross-functional readiness reviews.
  • Communicate status, risks, staffing needs, and tradeoffs clearly to leadership, peers, and partner teams using concise, data-driven updates.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across quality engineering and automation practices.
  • Hire, coach, and develop employees; set expectations, provide feedback, support career growth, and strengthen the overall capability of the organization.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in software quality, validation, test automation, or software development.
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams.
  • Experience leading quality efforts for customer-facing software systems across development, integration, and validation environments.
  • Working knowledge of software test planning, defect management, automation frameworks, and release-readiness practices.
  • Experience collaborating across software development, product, systems, and program teams.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including the ability to understand complex systems, make sound decisions, and explain tradeoffs clearly.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills in fast-moving environments with competing demands.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, remove roadblocks, and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with GM software development, validation, and issue-management processes.
  • Experience with Jira, Xray, dashboards, and other tools used to manage test plans, defects, and execution visibility.
  • Hands-on experience with software test automation for smoke, sanity, regression, and pre-build workflows.
  • Familiarity with connected applications and services such as OnStar-related experiences, subscription features, notifications, privacy/terms flows, passenger experience features, or similar domains.
  • Experience validating software across bench, lab, and vehicle environments, including coordination of hardware, flashing, and infrastructure readiness.
  • Familiarity with CCU/VCU validation, infotainment systems, connectivity-adjacent workflows, and distributed software systems.
