Job description

Software Engineer

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Looking for a software engineer with >10 years' experience to be part of the existing team in IT hub Houston, who have proven experience in supporting, configuring and deploying OSIsoft PI suite of applications preferably in the Oil & Gas industry. Besides the generic PI-CoE responsibilities mentioned above, the main purpose for this role will be to focus on the leadership attributes which can help in designing and delivering PI COE Services and projects related to PI Suite of Applications across Globe.

Candidate should be having strong technical knowledge across several OSIsoft PI components like Interfaces, Data Archive, Asset Framework, Manual Logger, Analytics, Visualization, Data Access.

Excellent communications and customer engagement skills are essential.

Experience of deploying or supporting other Real Time applications would be an advantage.

Accountabilities:

  • Guide and support other team members to create excellence in delivery
  • Align team targets to business goals and focus on team efforts (Bottom Line)
  • Perform Real Time project delivery under the direction of an ITPT Delivery Lead or Business DV Project Manager or CC lead
  • Project delivery will include technical activities related to application deployment, upgrades, development, integration, configuration, testing and commissioning
  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to ensure requirements and scope are clear
  • Work effectively with other IT teams such as Server Hosting, Network and PCD IT Security teams to ensure that infrastructure components are operational.
  • Contribute to successful AtD and AtO sign-off for projects.
  • Produce technical documentation as required to ensure successful implementation of deployment toolkits.
  • Ensure that projects are transitioned to support by delivering effective KT to the Asset SOM team
  • When required, perform user training (virtual or face-to-face) for client facing applications.
  • Engage with your peers in PI Centre of Excellence (PI CoE) to ensure architectural standardization for the OSIsoft PI application suite.
  • Engage with Business and / or GWC (PTX) on a need basis to understand business requirement Dimensions:
  • Although this is a fully hands-on role as you will have to deliver small enhancements single-handedly, this will also stretch your team management skills by not only looking after your own deliverables but also mentoring junior team members and taking responsibility of the team's quality deliverables.
  • Excellent English communication skills required for engagement with global business and IT focal points.
  • Strong relationship/stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a culturally diverse organization.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, committed to achieving project deadlines and successful project delivery.
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through to completion by agreed due dates.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a larger project team.
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and able to set priorities and manage workloads in a continuous changing and dynamic environment.
