Job description

Essex Industries is a multi-site aerospace and defense manufacturer serving military and commercial customers worldwide. We are currently seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead our quality team, oversee inspection and testing activities, ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements, and drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Supervise quality control employees, complete attendance in Paylocity /paperwork, approve PTO requests, and performance reviews, discipline, and department training as necessary. Schedule over time as needed.
  • Accomplishes department’s objectives by supervising staff and organizing, monitoring work processes.
  • Direct inspectors by prioritizing work and making sure proper inspection tools, equipment, and software are available.
  • Train inspectors on quality procedures that are applicable to inspection.
  • Assist in writing Drawing Change Requests (DCRs) when drawings need to be corrected.
  • Assist in writing Inspection Procedures (IPs) for component parts.
  • Develop / Control / Report Root Cause- Corrective Action (RCCA) process to ensure corrective actions are being completed on time.
  • Act as a product line quality engineer and execute task in accordance with the quality engineering function, including but not limited to driving root cause and corrective action, presenting products to customer for source inspection, development and leading quality improvement plan to drive customer scorecard improvements.
  • Coordinate and participate in MRB activities on a daily bases.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI’s) as required.
  • Collect acceptance/rejection data on parts and subassemblies that are inspected.
  • Attend weekly production meetings in order to be aware of production needs and priorities and communicate these to inspectors.
  • Perform inspections.
  • Assist Quality Manager and Engineer as needed.
  • Perform Quality audits as necessary.
  • Investigates and analyzes quality problems, recommends solutions and ensure that corrections have been made.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college and/or
  • 3 to 5 years experience in supervising 5 or more employees.
