Gross Annual Base Salary: USD 99,000 - 128,500

SUMMARY

The Senior Software QA Automation Engineer I has a strong background in Test automation tools, Microsoft technologies and an ability to work as a key member in a software engineering team for a rapidly growing company. Our company provides Corporate Performance Management (CPM) software for large corporations. Our product is designed for high-end deployments at customer facilities or in the Microsoft Azure cloud. The core engine contains complex OLAP-type, multi-dimensional, multi-server, multi-threading, web, and SQL technologies and is specifically designed to solve problems for the Office of Finance at extremely large corporations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-quality automation frameworks and scripts utilizing C#, Selenium, RestSharp, Appium, and other relevant technologies.
  • Acquire deep knowledge of Onestream products to craft efficient and effective automation solutions that align with product functionalities and requirements.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of automation frameworks, actively contribute feedback, and support the establishment of a comprehensive CI/CD automation infrastructure.
  • Engage closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to gather requirements, provide input during design and development phases, and ensure the highest quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify and champion opportunities for process optimization, driving initiatives that enhance the overall quality and efficiency of software development and testing processes.
  • Ensure the highest standards of code quality, organization, and maintainability within the automation suite.
  • Collaborate closely with QA and development teams to create comprehensive test cases and seamlessly integrate automation into the overall product quality strategy.
  • Investigate automation failures, provide insightful feedback to scrum teams, and proactively manage production issues.
  • Consolidate and report on test metrics, identify bottlenecks, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Provide expert support to Business Analysts, customers, and the testing team for automation-related queries and challenges.
  • Participate in and lead peer code reviews and offer development and support guidance to QA engineers during test case reviews.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage, propose and implement mitigation strategies to ensure comprehensive testing.
  • Lead the development of new tools and infrastructure in collaboration with other members of the quality department.
  • Suggest and drive enhancements to both the functional and technical aspects of products.
  • Drive forward process improvements, ensuring continuous enhancement of software development and testing practices.
  • Mentor other Automation engineers, provide technical guidance, resolve critical issues.
  • Effectively evaluate metrics for overall quality benchmarking, automation metrics and standards. Evaluate Quality Engineering discipline principles and provide recommendations for growth and advancement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or IT-related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years programming experience.
  • 5 years of experience building automation tools, and automation for web applications.
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • C#, Selenium, RestSharp, SQL, Azure, GIT
  • Competence in object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with Azure and building pipelines.
  • Skill for writing reusable libraries and understanding design patterns.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Development Methodologies.
  • Analyze and communicate technical issues, lead discussions, and influence decisions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and people skills.
  • Document solid, well thought out test cases for complex functionality.
  • Strong foundational understanding of multi-tiered architecture.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills; client engagement.
  • Strong Estimating and risk assessment skills.
  • Drives collaboration across scrum teams/organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years degree preferably in Computer Science.
  • Experience in object-oriented concepts in any programming language.
  • Experience in Azure or AWS cloud platform.
  • Experience leading and working with offshore teams is a plus.
  • Preferred experience and knowledge in SQL and developing database queries.
