Job description

CommunityAmerica Federal Credit Union seeks a Lead Software Engineer for Lenexa, Kansas.


Responsibilities:

 

The Lead Software Engineer will partner with our product team and business stakeholders to understand strategic business priorities and initiatives, and how to best deliver value. Architect and design solutions, provide technical leadership to the engineering team and leverage CMS, software development and integration technologies to deliver business solutions. Identify business needs and translate business needs into technical requirements, efforts, and timelines. Provide technical ownership of web projects, including a strategic assessment of .NET applications, CMS platform alternatives, and future integrations. Provide mentorship and guidance to development team; work with both onshore and offshore teams to foster a culture that encourages healthy development, clear communication, and on-time delivery. Proactively lead team in mitigating risks and removing recurring obstacles. Guide team through upcoming releases and security fixes. Actively design, document, and enforce processes that ensure quality software is built by the team.  Develop features and proof of concepts, and work with engineering team to facilitate design and code reviews. Create API data integrations between our platforms, and document both existing and new integrations. Ensure CommunityAmerica.com performs and scales well with minimal downtime. Remain current on modern web technologies and make recommendations that address business needs.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 8 years progressive experience, which must include experience with the following:
  • Developing C# or Java-based enterprise web applications.
  • Customization of Content Management Systems using .NET based technologies.
  • Hands-on software development.
  • Working knowledge of frontend web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to identify needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Experience working with marketing automation technology platforms.
  • Implementing software development methodologies like Agile, common DevOps patterns, and source control management.
  • Cloud data and integration platforms.
  • Position also requires the following:
  • Demonstrated understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to make technical recommendations and clearly communicate rationale, to both stakeholders and the development team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of API design and common authentication methods (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly diagnose performance issues and recommend optimizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and data design principles.
