About the role:

The manager/software development is responsible for the management of the software programming analysis and design function including supervision of the applications programming staff; programming for the core banking system and ancillary systems; programming-related case management and reporting; and management of in-house developed software support. This individual seeks to fulfill and support guiding concepts embodied in the philosophy, mission, values, and vision adopted by the Credit Union.

This position has a minimum annual rate of $129,300, but your offer amount may be increased with relevant work experience and transferable skills.


A Day in the life of a manager/software development can look like:

  • Supervise and provide technical leadership for the application programming team members, including performing evaluations and hiring.
  • Manage and oversee the management of software development projects.
  • Maintain quality assurance for application systems development.
  • Perform analysis oversight during initial design and problem solving of programming assignments.
  • Code, test, troubleshoot, analyze, maintain, and develop programs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help design and implement enterprise workflow projects.
  • Analyze and monitor system capabilities in light of organizational needs to design or re-engineer programs to maximize system functionality and improve organizational performance.
  • Work with leaders to identify, develop, test and implement programming to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Work with team members to monitor cases, prioritize cases and assign requests to team members. Ensure completed assignments meet departmental standards and that documentation is complete.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office throughout the duration of projects to ensure project implementation objectives are met.
  • Maintain a general working knowledge of all applications and in-house enhancements; act as a primary technical contact with software vendors.
  • Develop and adhere to security procedures for programmer access to core system database.
  • Perform other duties as directed by leadership.


What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of programming experience.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated advanced logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated professional interpersonal skills for leading, motivating, and communicating with team members.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.


You might also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science-related field.
  • 3 years of experience managing developers and the development functions.
  • 3 years of experience working in an IT environment at a financial institution.
  • 2 years of Symitar/Episys experience.
