Torch Technologies is seeking a Mid-Senior Software Developer to join our team in support of advanced software development and AI-driven mission solutions. The selected candidate will drive the design, development, and integration of innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) capabilities into defense and mission-focused applications, specifically supporting Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) efforts. You will operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative "badgeless" environment, working seamlessly alongside government customers and multi-contractor teams. As a self-starter, you will play a crucial role in leading AI integration across workflows and pioneering AI agentic solutions across a geographically distributed footprint. As a Software Developer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: * Python & AI Development : Develop, maintain, and enhance mission-focused applications using Python, specifically focused on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and AI applications related to M&S and IAMD.
* Workflow Leadership : Lead the integration of AI across mission workflows, with a specific focus on designing and deploying AI agentic workflows to automate and optimize complex technical tasks.
* Joint Environment Collaboration : Operate effectively within a "badgeless" multi-contractor environment, fostering seamless collaboration with government customers and other contract teams to deliver unified mission solutions.
* Distributed Team Operations : Coordinate and execute development activities across multiple geographical locations, utilizing modern communication and collaboration tools to maintain progress in a distributed environment.
* Mission Integration & Testing : Support the analysis, development, and integration of software capabilities across multiple mission areas, ensuring AI-driven solutions meet rigorous defense requirements.
* Agile Problem Solving : Contribute as a proactive self-starter within an agile framework, identifying technical risks, recommending solutions, and driving program execution in a fast-moving environment.
* Technical Communication : Document software designs, architectures, and test results, and provide clear technical briefings to leadership and stakeholders. Qualifications * U.S. Citizenship: Required.
* Clearance: An active Secret Security Clearance is required.
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
* Experience: 5+ years of relevant software development experience in a mid-to-senior level capacity.
* Python Proficiency: Expert-level experience in Python development and its associated libraries/frameworks.
* Self-Starter Mentality: Proven ability to take initiative and work independently without close supervision while maintaining high productivity.
* Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a "badgeless" team environment and across geographically distributed locations.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document and brief complex technical concepts. Preferred Qualifications * AI & RL Expertise: Hands-on experience with Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and general AI/ML frameworks.
* Agentic Workflows: Experience developing AI agentic workflows and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into operational environments.
* M&S Domain Knowledge: Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).
* Simulation Tools: Experience with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM).
* Industry Context: Previous experience working within DoD, defense, aerospace, or complex engineering-focused environments.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working directly with cross-functional teams and government stakeholders to align technical development with mission requirements.

Salary Range - Colorado: $125,000-150,000 The salary range information is a general guideline only.
