Description:

UDC is seeking a full-time GIS Software Developer to design, develop, configure, and maintain (GIS) applications for asset management workflows in the utility industry.




What you will do

As a GIS Software Developer, you will leverage existing vendor and UDC specific frameworks for desktop, web, and mobile device solutions. This work will include standard UI and application extensions as well as integrations. Most integrations will be a combination of GIS products to and from customer information systems, enterprise resource planning, outage management and other systems commonly found within the Utility industry. Your work output must be enterprise quality based on requirement specifications, from layout to function. UDC also has a host of products used across projects, so quality code and open, honest communication of code development status is a key metric for success.


Other essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Work with and lead development teams to design, implement, test, and document technical solutions

· Work directly with UDC product owners and/or external client stakeholders to define requirements and needed functionality

· Experience working with FME

· Present ideas for system improvements

· Utilize Web, Desktop, Mobile and GIS Industry standards, testing, and quality procedures

· Investigate and resolve identified defects or issues with developed solutions

· Work under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment

· Will participate in UDC mentor program to stay current on evolving technology and participate in the UDC development community



What we look for from you

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or GIS with a minimum of 4 years of related work experience

· Will consider candidates with 1-6 years of related experience without a four-year college degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Proficiency in some of the below technical skills:

· C#, .NET; Python, JavaScript, SQL Server; Oracle

· ArcGIS Enterprise; ArcGIS Pro; ArcGIS Desktop; ArcFM Suite of tools ArcFM Designer; ArcSDE; ArcGIS Engine; ArcGIS Online

· Microsoft Office; Visual Studio, Visio

· Web Services (REST/SOAP); XML; AJAX; IIS; HTML; CSS; Backbone.js; Marionette.js; jQuery; ASP.NET Web API; NHibernate; Fluent NHibernate; Objective-C; Qt; QML; JQuery

· GIT, Subversion

· Use of some or all of the following preferred : Esri APIs: ArcFM, ArcGIS Api for JavaScript, ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS Runtime SDK, ArcGIS Pro SDK, ArcGIS Server SDK, ArcObjects SDK for .NET

· Understanding of GIS concepts: Datum and Projection concepts, X/Y vs Lat/Long usage and translation, Symbology, Annotation, Dimensions




Compensation Range: $75,000-$95,000/annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
