Job Description:

The Configuration Management EMSC Senior Supervisor is a Engineering Services leadership role that leads a Configuration Management (CM) function to establish consistency of product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information. The primary goal of this role is to provide leadership and develop to a team that maintains the integrity of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, and associated configuration information using established configuration processes and controls. This role provides additional as-required support to various engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, DevOps support, and other tasking as required. The role resides within the Engineering Materials Support Center (EMSC). The EMSC Supports all users releasing new parts and updating existing Library/Cots parts into the PLM tool and all locations across L3 Harris.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads a team implementing established configuration management documentation, processes, and principles in an Agile development environment
  • Provides daily guidance to team members of work tasking and prioritization
  • Administers existing configuration management toolsets, to include Agile Product Data Management, Rational ClearQuest, Windchill, and/or JIRA
  • Facilitates the Configuration Change Board (CCB) process by analyzing proposed product design changes for accuracy, completeness, and to determine the effect on the overall system
  • Organizes reviews and authorizes the release of drawings and documentation specified by Program or Engineering Management
  • Provides advice and guidance on configuration management methods, tools, procedures, and requirements to project team members responsible for the creation of drawings and documentation
  • Plan for and implement continuous improvement projects
  • Acts as liaison between management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration processes and records

Qualifications:

  • Experience with basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address system or process issues quickly and effectively.
  • Communicate clearly across teams to ensure timely issue resolution and support business needs.
  • Monitoring, preparing, and administering yearly performance reviews involves planning, tracking performance throughout the year, gathering input, documenting results, and conducting review discussions.
  • Ability to learn new tools and use them, including the Agile Configuration Management Tool and basic office software.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management, parts verification, material management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Familiarity with researching manufacturing data verifying part number details.
