Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in historic and vibrant Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking a part time assistant coach. Graduate tuition remission may be possible after one year of employment. Coaching Athletic Assistant duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the head coach with practice and game preparation and coaching, recruiting, academics, fundraising, and the off-season program.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of softball pitching mechanics, training methodologies, and player development strategies.
  • Skill in coaching and instructing softball pitchers and catchers to improve individual and team performance.
  • Ability to motivate and develop pitchers and catchers while fostering a positive and competitive team culture.

Required Experience:

  • Collegiate pitching experience, or experience with coaching pitchers at the travel, high school, or college level.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
