SMT Operating Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled SMT Operating Technician to join our manufacturing team in College Station, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality production of electronic assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate PCB assembly machines to manufacture circuit boards, including but not limited to:
    • Pick and place, reflow, wave solder, and solder print
    • Component kitting and measuring
    • Optical and AOI Inspection
  • Load materials and components into SMT equipment and ensure proper alignment and placement.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on SMT machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect assembled PCBs for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any issues to the production manager.
  • Document non-conformance and associated rework and quickly return non-conforming product back into normal workflow.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and resolve production challenges.
Qualifications
  • Experience as an SMT Operating Technician or similar role in electronics manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of SMT equipment operation, setup, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret production documentation and work instructions.
  • Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, ERP system, and related programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to work with small components.
