Technical Customer Representative

Location: Greenville Convention Center Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly Compensation: Starting at $20.00/hour, based on experience Work Environment: On-site only; this is not a remote or hybrid position Travel: May be required on occasion

Smart City Networks is seeking a full-time Technical Customer Representative to join our team at the Greenville Convention Center. This is a hands-on role for one individual who will take on a wide range of responsibilities, supporting both customer service and technical operations. About Smart City Networks

Smart City Networks has been powering connections for over 40 years. As the nation's leading provider of telecommunication services for convention centers and major events, we support over 3,000 events annually, including Fortune 500 conferences, national conventions, and global summits. Our headquarters in Las Vegas is home to our customer service, accounting, and technology teams, as well as our Network Operations Center (NOC), which provides 24/7 remote monitoring and Internet security services.

Position Summary

This hybrid role combines customer service and technical responsibilities. We're looking for someone who is passionate about technology and enjoys helping people. You'll work directly with event clients to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain network connections on-site, while also supporting service desk operations and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and sales support during events • Respond to inquiries, process requests, and collect payments • Assist with service desk operations at show sites • Input data and generate reports using proprietary software • Manage inventory and assist with event setup and breakdown • Translate event schematics into real-world network installations • Install and test copper and fiberoptic cables, patch panels, and jumpers • Troubleshoot technical issues and support clients during setup and takedown • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Ability to multitask and manage interruptions professionally • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Professional demeanor and customer-focused attitude • Interest in IT and telecom networking • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening
