Hands-on accounting work for small business clients. No accounting experience required. We train for the technical work.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of Accounting Services, the Staff Accountant performs ongoing, monthly bookkeeping and accounting work for an assigned group of small business clients. This is production work with real client contact and a clear view of how small businesses actually run. If you are organized, careful with details, and want to build a professional skill set, we will teach you the rest.
What You'll Do
Client Accounting Services
  • Perform monthly bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
  • Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and maintain organized file documentation
  • Communicate proactively with clients to keep monthly information flowing on schedule
  • Assist with backwork projects for newly onboarded clients

Compliance Filings
  • Prepare, file, and remit sales, use, and food and beverage tax returns
  • Prepare 1099s and personal property tax returns

Qualifications
  • Comfort working with numbers and a strong eye for detail
  • One or more years of experience working in a professional setting
  • Clear, professional communicator with a client-focused attitude
  • Organized and reliable, able to manage many clients and deadlines at once
  • Tech-savvy, able to learn new tools quickly
  • Team-oriented with a genuine interest in helping small businesses be successful
