Job description

Great Lakes Accounting LLP is looking for an experienced bookkeeper for our Hobart Indiana accounting office. Experience with QuickBooks is a must; Duties will include data entry of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions to general ledger, making journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, creating chart of accounts , making depreciation entries, file and store paperwork Perform other tasks per management request.
Required:>1+ years experience working as a bookkeeper>Experience with QuickBooks (must have)>Being able to come daily 8am-5pm (1h break included). Compensation based on experience, paid vacation, paid holidays and sick days after probationary period. Must be able to work extra hours during tax season. Education:

High school graduate with courses in bookkeeping preferred.
Experience:
Computer knowledge and experience including familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing applications is desired.
Strong customer service
Possesses superior communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, and be able to effectively direct front and back-end work processes and personnel toward a common goal.
1040 tax preparation experience is a plus.

General Responsibilities:
Data entry into QuickBooks, reconcile bank accounts help clients with QuickBooks questions.
Tax remittances and filings, including FICA, sales tax, withholding and 1099's as well as others.
Types reports, letters, memos, and prepares basic spreadsheets.
Assists with other analytical or accounting duties as assigned.
Works to complete all tasks within a necessary timeframe.
