Starting Wage: $60,603.38 annual salary

The Food and Beverage Supervisor (F&B Supervisor) is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of Café 1297 under the direction of the Casino Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises, schedules, and delegates work for Café 1297 Team Members.
  • Covers shifts for F&B Team Members due to PTO, staff shortages, or vacations, performing job duties as needed.
  • Works with management on communications with Team Members to resolve personnel problems and discuss solutions.
  • Provides input on Team Member hiring, evaluations, corrective actions, and separation decisions.
  • Ensures compliance with all TRCR safety and sanitation procedures and state requirements.
  • Creates menu and special items, considering product availability and popularity.
  • Monitors the handling of all food and inventory for proper temperatures, quality, and safe cooking techniques.
  • Verifies all products leaving the kitchen meet quality standards and are prepared to guest satisfaction.
  • Monitors the cleanliness and organization of the back-of-house food areas, including the walk-ins, confirming product quantity and quality.
  • Reports any product shortages or deficiencies to management promptly.
  • Maintains product and inventory, confirming items are correctly dated and rotated using the FIFO (first in, first out) method
  • Closely follows the F&B department health and personal hygiene policy.
  • Supports all department Supervisors, acting as the supervisor in their absence.
  • Administers service recovery processes as necessary to win back guests who experience service or product challenges during their visit.
  • Authorizes complimentary guest services as defined by policies and procedures.
  • Projects a well-groomed and professional appearance, entering each conversation with a helpful and positive attitude.
  • Communicates clear expectations for team members on behavior, tasks, and performance in line with our service commitments.
  • In the absence of a MOD, witnesses and authorizes signatures for slot jackpot payments as per department processes and procedures while monitoring and enforcing all policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY

  • The minimum age requirement for this position is 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have three years combined experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have an OLCC Permit at the time of hire.
  • Possess or obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment.
  • General understanding of computer programs, including all Windows applications required.
  • Must know all state and county sanitation procedures and HACCP policies. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing, or by other acceptable means.
  • Comply with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the department's needs and for special casino events.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend, and squat frequently.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
