Summary

ARNP shall devote exclusive efforts to the practice of medicine as an employee of Confluence Health by providing professional sleep medicine services within the scope of APP's training and responsibility. Will render services in compliance with applicable laws, professional regulations, hospital policies, procedures and protocols, within this chosen medical specialty. Provides appropriate specialized outpatient Sleep Medicine health care services. Order sleep study examinations and provides treatment to minor/routine problems; performs or orders sleep study and other diagnostic tests; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medications and lab studies; instructs patients and family members about continuing care.

Position Reports To: Practice Manager


Essential Functions
  1. Sees new and established patients, completing a thorough history and physical examination that is problem-oriented for sleep conditions.
  2. Based on results of diagnostic work up including, but not limited to, home and in-lab sleep studies, prescribes appropriate treatments, DME, and follow-up visits in accordance with each patient's identified clinical needs.
  3. Develops a treatment plan for sleep conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the Sleep Med MDs. Refers patients to Sleep Medicine physician or other specialty services when appropriate.
  4. Writes prescriptions and perform procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
  5. Maintains accurate and complete patient records in compliance with organizational policy and professional standards. This includes documenting in clinical records in a timely manner and demonstrating proficiency in using the Electronic Medical Record documentation system.
  6. Counsels patients and families, helping them to understand issues related to sleep health and their own treatment options.
  7. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Active Registered Nurse and ARNP licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
  • Active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
