Position Description:
The Shop Manager oversees all aspects of fleet vehicle and equipment maintenance, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs and adherence to company maintenance standards. This role coordinates daily operations, including inspections, seasonal reconditioning, inventory management, and expense tracking. The Shop Manager leads shop staff, supports training initiatives, and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment while collaborating closely with regional and branch teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and perform high-quality, timely repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety
  • Lead the execution of comprehensive seasonal maintenance programs (Winter and Summer Recon) in accordance with company standards
  • Manage regular vehicle washing and waxing schedules as outlined in fleet maintenance policies
  • Coordinate all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities with branch personnel to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity
  • Conduct morning inspections (A.M. inspections) as assigned by the Regional Fleet Manager to verify vehicle and equipment readiness
  • Support the upkeep and cleanliness of maintenance yard areas (Pad Maintenance) to maintain safe and efficient operations
  • Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels for vehicles and equipment under the direction of the Regional Fleet Manager
  • Monitor and report any instances of equipment misuse or abuse in a timely and appropriate manner to ensure accountability
  • Participate in the training of team members on the proper use, care, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Issue purchase orders at the point of sale for all approved materials and services, ensuring alignment with procurement policies
  • Monitor and manage shop-related expenses, maintaining adherence to approved budgets
  • Review, process, and submit all invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform various administrative tasks including maintaining up-to-date records in systems such as the recon tracker, shop expense tracker, and mileage reports; managing the shop bulletin board for effective communication
  • Ensure the parts room is adequately stocked with essential components and supplies to support uninterrupted operations
  • Maintain the functionality of the fueling system (if applicable) to support daily fleet operations
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization standards in the shop to promote a safe, productive, and professional work environment
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Fleet Manager

Compensation:$60,000-$70,000 annually (depending on experience)
