Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Shop Supervisor to lead our engine department and oversee the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of heavy-duty diesel engines in Garner, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of diesel engine experience, with a strong preference for individuals who have worked extensively with Caterpillar engines and generators.

Responsibilities: Supervise and support a team of 10-15 diesel technicians, ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Coordinate workflow, assign jobs, and monitor shop productivity. Oversee engine diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and complete rebuilds.

Provide technical guidance and assistance to technicians when troubleshooting complex issues. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations. Maintain accurate repair documentation and utilize computerized maintenance and shop management systems.

Work closely with parts and service personnel to ensure timely completion of repairs. Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Monitor quality control and ensure customer expectations are consistently met.

Qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance. Previous leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engines and engine rebuilding procedures.

Caterpillar engine experience is highly preferred. Experience with engine diagnostics and troubleshooting. Strong computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management software.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation. Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
