Job description

Description:

Shipping Clerk
Grade Level 3
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for receiving material packed for shipment, processes the shipment thru the shipping software by collecting weights, dimensions, and inputting data required to close out the shipment and receive a shipping label. Packing list is printed along with any other required shipping documents for Export orders as well as building and shrink wrapping skidded shipments for scheduled pickup. Closed shipments are then off loaded to the appropriate staging location for immediate carrier pickup or export consolidation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inputting weights, dims and required information into the system accurately
  • Attaching all required documentation to the shipment along with the correct shipping label
  • Keep both shipping lines clean and shipments appropriately sorted
  • Build and shrink wrap skids with weights and dimensions
  • Communicate with Leads and Export Clerk as needed
  • Responsible for making sure all shipments are staged and ready for carrier pickup in the assigned location, monitor and assist the carriers as they collect the shipments.
  • Close out the end of day UPS Manifest 
  • Collect and sort copies of shipped orders to be filed for consolidation or shipments that have been picked up

Requirements:

Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Warehouse experience preferred
  • Capability to operate a pallet jack

Physical/Mental Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with assistance
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use a keyboard with a mouse
