Position Summary:

The Shipping Manager will oversee the daily shipping and distribution operations and shipping personnel within the division. This position is responsible for tracking orders, managing shipment documents, directing package flow, and ensuring timely delivery of complete orders. This position will be responsible for hiring and training department employees, overseeing the daily workflow and schedules of the department, conducting performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, and handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

  • Completes all required management reports
  • Use software to track, check, prioritize, and route orders
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
  • Manage shipping documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, and bills of landing
  • Oversee the entire process of preparing shipments, inspect completed orders, supervise subordinates
  • Responsible for controlling the shipping department’s budget and resolving order-related issues
  • Responsible for training and development of team members
  • At least 51% or more of their time is spent actively managing employees and participating in management meetings
  • Directs the activities of shipping department employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Work is usually performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment
  • Physical demands of the position are sitting, walking, and lifting
