Office & Shipping Assistant – Melon Acres

Location: Oaktown, IN Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role Melon Acres is looking for a versatile and organized individual to join our team in the shipping office. This is a dynamic role that sits at the heart of our produce operations. You will be the "go-to" person for administrative tasks while ensuring our shipping and customer programs run smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Shipping & Logistics: Assist in the shipping office with documentation and logistics for our fresh produce.
  • Office Administration: Manage multi-line phones, organize filing systems, and handle general clerical duties.
  • Customer Service: Act as a primary point of contact for our CSA Program members and general customer inquiries.
  • Special Projects: Support the planning and execution of our Big Peach events and manage seasonal inventory.

Schedule & Hours This position follows the rhythm of the farm:

  • Spring & Summer: Peak season with full-time or high part-time hours.
  • Winter: Reduced hours/low-season schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in basic office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience or interest in agriculture/produce is a plus!
