ESTIMATED PAY RANGE

Project Manager: $48.95 – $59.82/hour

Program Manager: $59.09 – $72.22/hour

Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Engineering Project Manager in Burnsville, MN, you will:

  • Manage engineering projects within a Research, Development & Engineering (RDE) client, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Understand key technologies and processes related to the custom power solution industry
  • Drive consistent project execution, governance, and reporting practices across RDE
  • Lead onboarding, coaching, and mentoring of project team members in areas such as risk management, resource planning, scope control, scheduling, and stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate project requirements, design reviews, verification/validation activities, engineering change control, and market launch readiness
  • Support project planning, execution, tracking, close-out, and lessons learned
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans
  • Report project progress, risks, and performance to leadership on established cadences
  • Promote effective stakeholder management and communication
  • Contribute to project governance standards, tools, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support portfolio reviews, resource balancing, and scenario analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to remove barriers, align priorities, and improve execution effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a business-related field and/or in an engineering discipline
  • PMP (Issued by the PMI) or a Master's Degree in Project Management
  • 7+ years leading projects in mechanical/electrical engineering, R&D, technology, or product development environments
  • Strong business acumen and experience working in cross-functional settings
  • Proficiency with project scheduling and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated success in business process improvement
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint) and Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, AI tools (Copilot/ChatGPT), and mind‑mapping tools (e.g., Mindomo)
  • Experience driving technology/products to commercialization strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead mechanical and electrical engineers while working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments
  • Experience managing external vendors, suppliers, or development partners preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically/internationally
