About Canopy Lawncare
At Canopy Lawncare, we don't just treat lawns; we specialize in soil health and elite agronomics. We pride ourselves on delivering premium results for cool-season turf, specifically Tall Fescue. We offer our clients top-tier service through our comprehensive 7-treatment and 11-treatment packages, alongside specialized services like aeration, seeding, and tree/shrub care. We are looking for a driven, knowledgeable Lawncare Technician Manager to lead our crews, educate our clients, and help grow our footprint.
Role Overview
As the Lawncare Technician Manager, you will be the bridge between our fieldwork and our business growth. You will oversee daily routing and applications, ensure quality control across all properties, and serve as the face of Canopy Lawncare for our clients. The ideal candidate is an agronomy expert who is equally comfortable diagnosing a turf issue, applying treatments, and having a confident, consultative conversation with a homeowner to upgrade their service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Application & Operations: Perform and oversee the safe, accurate application of fertilizers, pre-emergents, post-emergents, and specialized treatments (grub control, fungicides) in accordance with our treatment schedules.
  • Client Communication: Actively engage with clients on-site. Explain the "why" behind our treatments, set proper expectations for turf recovery, and build long-term trust.
  • Sales & Upselling: Proactively identify property needs and sell supplemental services. If a lawn needs our fall aeration and seeding, carbon/lime supplements, or an upgrade to our 11-treatment "Healthy Lawn Plus" package, you are expected to make the recommendation and close the sale.
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage lawncare technicians. Ensure they are following safety protocols, maintaining equipment, and delivering the high standard of service our clients expect.
  • Turfgrass Management: Utilize your deep knowledge of cool-season grasses (particularly Tall Fescue) to troubleshoot problem areas, diagnose diseases, and adjust treatment plans as weather and environmental conditions dictate.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Proven, hands-on experience in commercial pesticide and fertilizer applications.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of turfgrass types, weed identification, soil health, and seasonal lawn diseases.
  • Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to upsell services and close sales in the field. You must be comfortable asking for the business.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a willingness to educate and interact directly with clients daily.
  • Licensing: Must hold (or be willing to immediately obtain) applicable state pesticide application licenses/certifications. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
