Job description

Service Technician Apprentice

Service Technician Apprentices’ primary responsibility is to have the background and aptitude to learn the skills to provide quality installations, maintenance, and repairs of overhead material handling equipment. This will include breakdowns that require troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and circuits. A person who has some maintenance/electrical background and education would be a great fit for this position.

Service Technician Apprentice Role amp; Responsibilities Development to include:

  • The performance of maintenance, inspection, and repairs on overhead cranes

  • The performance of electrical amp; mechanical troubleshooting

  • Working from heights

  • Ensuring professionalism and a high customer service

  • Working as the assistant technician on large mechanical repair jobs

  • Working along as “On the Job Training” for inspections, hoist teardowns, and large service jobs

Service Technician Apprentice Requirements

  • KNOWLEDGE: A mechanical/electrical background and/or education is preferred.

  • SKILLS: 

  • Experience with metal fabrication and machining is a plus.

  • Experience with a variety of basic hand tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with customers, internal/external partners/vendors.

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment in which fast response is normal.
