Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for a full-time Operations Manager (BOH) within The Morris Inn in our campus Hospitality department. The UOES Division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.

The Operations Manager (BOH) is a high-energy leader responsible for the "heart of the house" operations across the Morris Inn and McKenna Hall. This role requires a strong presence across both properties. A proactive focus on the cleanliness and visual excellence of all guest rooms, dining venues, and shared campus environments is essential to the success of this role. By overseeing a diverse team of room attendants, housepersons, and overnight custodians, the Operations Manager ensures that every corner of the property meets elite standards. This leader cultivates an environment of both enjoyment and excellence, seamlessly connecting technical systems like HotSOS with a philosophy of deeply personalized, high-touch service.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Operational Excellence: Maintaining rigorous cleanliness standards for guest rooms, Rohr's, Cafe J, Morris Inn public spaces and the McKenna Hall offices and public spaces
  • Dynamic Leadership: Leading high-energy morning/afternoon huddles and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for a large, diverse team.
  • Technical Proficiency: Serving as a subject matter expert in HotSOS to manage room boards, track productivity, and streamline maintenance and front desk communication.
  • High-Touch Service: Overseeing the Turndown team to ensure a luxury evening experience that anticipates guest needs.
  • 24-Hour Continuity: Providing strategic direction to the Overnight Supervisor to ensure public spaces and office corridors are pristine for the start of the business day.
