Job Description

The Food Service & Delivery Associate is responsible for safely transporting food, supplies, and equipment between school locations while supporting daily food service operations. This role combines route delivery responsibilities with hands-on food preparation, service, sanitation, and inventory management. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, customer-oriented, and able to work independently while ensuring students receive high-quality meals and service across multiple locations.

Job Responsibilities

Delivery & Transportation

  • Safely operate a company vehicle to transport food, supplies, and equipment between assigned school locations.
  • Load and unload products, meals, and supplies daily.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of items according to established schedules and route requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of deliveries, inventory levels, waste, and other operational records.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, or repairs to management promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and delivery equipment.
  • Adhere to all driving regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.

Food Service Operations

  • Assist with food and meal preparation according to planned menus and production schedules.
  • Prepare, portion, and serve food in accordance with department standards and meal service requirements.
  • Ensure food is stored, handled, and transported safely in compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain required food temperatures during preparation, transport, and service.
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking, and maintaining product levels at assigned locations.
  • Maintain accurate meal records and complete required daily reports.
  • Operate and properly maintain kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Add garnishes and present food in an appealing manner to support customer satisfaction.

Customer Service & Teamwork

  • Maintain a friendly, professional, and positive attitude toward students, clients, customers, and team members.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and school staff to support daily operational needs.
  • Work independently with limited supervision while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Previous delivery driving or route driving experience preferred.
  • Previous food service, cafeteria, school nutrition, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Food Service Certificate or ServSafe certification, if required by local regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
