Scope of Position
Designer performs design, detailing, and analysis under supervision of Administrator or Project Personnel. Haskell is seeking a Designer with experience in Plant3D and Revit.
Job Responsibilities
  • Application of Knowledge of Process Systems:
    • Creates 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) systems, such as AutoCAD and Revit, based on the designs provided by the engineering disciplines.
  • Design
    • Effectively applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs.
    • Produces well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and
      correctness from layouts, sketches, verbal and/or written instructions adhering to team and discipline standards.
    • Checks own work carefully to minimize all deficiencies, errors and omissions.
    • Works with the Engineering department to coordinate and understand process design.
    • Assists with production of specifications and other standards required in the design process.
    • Performs analysis or calculations as assigned.
  • Construction Support
    • Subject to final approval, the senior designer checks shop drawings and submittals data for conformance with contract documents.
    • The senior designer advises and assists construction personnel in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents as directed, providing timely solutions to field problems, preparing field orders, addenda, and record drawings.
    • Field assignments may include assisting in site surveys, final design and as-builts.
  • Planning, Scheduling and Profitability
    • The senior designer assists by providing required information on timely basis and keeping supervisor apprised as to progress of the work.
    • The senior designer maintains orderly work file, prepares clear well-written memos/correspondence, and maintains good communication of status with disciplines.
    • The senior designer assists with drawing planning, management and adherence to schedule.
    • The senior designer designs project within provided design budget and track additional hours utilized, including when scope is expanded.
  • Project Management
    • The senior designer coordinates work with other disciplines as to dimensions and
      interference to minimize deficiencies, errors and omissions.
  • Professional Development
    • Participates in the professional community organizations and trade organizations within
      discipline.
  • Leadership
    • Adheres to established company standards and policies.
    • The senior designer will train both formally and informally Designers within the specific discipline.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed

Education & Years of Experience
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of experience in design and drafting software.

Qualifications
  • Desirable experience in applicable design work.
  • Proficient in the use of current technology in discipline.
  • Experience in several CAD programs, specifically AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
