Job description

Job Summary: Our company is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Navy combat systems. The ideal candidate will have the ability to generate and adjudicate requirements, design and develop computing infrastructure solutions based on requirements, understand shipbuilding and ship integration processes, understand combat system sensor and weapons interfaces, and manage technical data. A degree in engineering or a related field is recommended, but not required.

  • Familiarity with SysML and other modeling tools
Responsibilities:
  • Work with customers and stakeholders to generate and adjudicate requirements for the Navy's Integrated Combat Systems (ICS)
  • Design and develop computing infrastructure solutions based on requirements, including server architecture, network architecture, and system integration
  • Understand shipbuilding and ship integration processes and work with shipbuilders to ensure proper installation of combat systems
  • Understand combat system sensor and weapons interfaces and work with other engineers to ensure compatibility and proper functionality
  • Manage technical data and maintain accurate records of system design, development, and testing activities
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that all design aspects are aligned with project goals and objectives
  • Support the development of system test programs to validate system technical requirements
  • Participate in product testing and validation activities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Communicate technical information and recommendations to management and stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Navy combat systems
  • Strong knowledge of computing infrastructure design and development
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding and ship integration processes
  • Understanding of combat system sensor and weapons interfaces
  • Experience in configuration management of technical data and maintaining accurate records
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of product testing and validation procedures
  • Basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field is recommended, but not required.
