Job description

Position Summary

A Senior System Engineer will design, support and implement advanced server based technology as well as provide advanced support for the daily technical functions as they relate to server environment. Senior System Engineers will work with the Manager of System Engineering and IS Leadership on all server related projects as well as all operational server support and administration. A Senior System Engineer provides advanced level support of primary or essential responsibilities.

Primary Position Responsibilities

1. Planning, design, management and support of the Desktop and Server environment.
2. Planning, design, management and implementation of the Storage Area Network.
3. Planning, design, management and support of the VDI/VMware PC/Server environment.
4. Supporting the technical testing of IT solutions.
5. Collaboration with all IS department teams.
6. Effective use of all IS Information Systems.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Certificate and/or Advanced Specialized or Technical Training in VMWare technologies preferred.


Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required:

5 years in computer science related field

Preferred:

5 - 10 + years in computer science related field.


License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

None

Preferred:

Network +, MCP, MCSE, VCP


Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required:

Strong computer troubleshooting skills

Preferred:

Familiarity with OSI model (Open Systems Interconnection), specifically how it relates to client / server
troubleshooting.
