JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in scheduling student staff

  • Recruiting, hire, onboard, and evaluate student staff with professional staff oversight.

  • Assisting in outreach opportunities

  • Lead, train, and support student staff

  • Assist in leading student staff meetings

  • Oversee departmental special events such as Fall staff training and Spring staff trainings and attend retreats

Expectations:

  • Act as an extension of professional staff

  • Strong platform of campus recreation knowledge

  • Working closely with the marketing and the creative design team

  • Job performance may include all the duties and responsibilities of positions in lower tier levels.

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to positively interact with student staff and patrons

  • Complete all required Penn State LRN trainings

  • Ability to work independently

  • Minimum of 1 year of Campus Recreation employment preferred

Working conditions:

  • Work a minimum of 12-17 hours per week

  • Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that may include early morning, late evenings, and/or weekends.
