Description: Student Management Specialist (Transportation)
Job Summary: The Student Management Specialist (Transportation) is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and orderly environment on all school district vehicles. This role serves as the primary liaison between bus drivers, school administrators, and parents regarding student behavior issues. The Specialist reviews incident reports, investigates behavioral disruptions, determines appropriate interventions or disciplinary actions in line with district policy, and tarins transportation staff on positive behavior management techniques. Additionally, the individual in this role must maintain credentials to operate school buses and step in to drive routes as needed.
Qualifications: Must posses (or be able to rapidly obtain) a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, alongside a clean driving record. Must have 2--3 years of experience working directly with K - 12 students. Experience working within a school transportation system or logistics environment is a major plus.
Working Conditions: Split between an office setting (reviewing footage / documentation) and field work (boarding buses, driving routes, visiting school loading zones, and meeting at school campuses). Requires an early morning and afternoon split schedule to match the district's bus operating hours. Flexibility is required to cover routes or respond to transit emergencies.
