Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Mid to Senior Level Bridge Engineer to join our growing structures group. Work will consist of leading design efforts for both local and DOT structures throughout Wisconsin. This position offers an excellent opportunity for upward mobility within a growing firm. Description:
  • Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans.
  • Provide specialized technical input on transportation related projects.
  • Manage or take an active role in bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff.
  • Conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of new bridges utilizing prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel and timber components.
  • Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
  • Load evaluation of existing bridges.
  • Experience in preparation of technical specifications and design documents, report writing and technical engineering support.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering
  • 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Bureau of Structures procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools.
  • Structural problem analysis skills.
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable design codes.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Prior experience with complex bridge projects a plus.
  • Current Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to acquire within 1 year of employment.
