Senior Software Engineer - 2373458

EMPLOYER:    Optum Services Inc.

JOB TITLE:    Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION:    1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

DUTIES:    Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties include: Utilize Java and Angular Technologies with understanding of core patterns to solve business problems; Design, code, test, debug, and document software, and enhance existing components to ensure that software meets business needs; Deploy and maintain Applications/Systems ensuring that application performance meets the product standards and thresholds and measure application performance against non functional requirements; Work with other software engineers and Agile scrum teams, assigned to work on the project, to deliver on customer commitments; POC to train and onboard new software Engineers; Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software; Clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues and plans to technology leadership; Collaborate on the design with other team members, Architects and product owners, both inside and outside the scrum team and across division; Conduct review and walkthrough of the infrastructure needs and ensure they meet coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines; Drive a quality mindset within the team and mentor junior developers and help them onboard; and Create cloud computing infrastructure and integrate core DevOps practices to deliver value added products quicker to the market utilizing GitHub/GitHub actions and Terraform for CI/CD. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS:    Employer will accept a Master's degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related engineering occupation.

    GitHub 
    Tableau
    Data Modeling with generic modeling tools
    Data visualization tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau
    Cloud-based data analytics such as AWS, Azure, or Snowflake
    Azure Databricks, ADF, and Azure AI Search
    Databricks, SQL, and Spark-based technologies

RATE OF PAY:  $148,519- $195,174
