Join our Data & Analytics Engineering team as a Senior Data Engineer, serving as the technical lead for a team of Data Engineers. You will design, build, optimize, and own scalable enterprise data pipelines and platform capabilities in Snowflake that power conventional and agentic analytics, purpose-built data products, and operational reporting. Experienced technical lead with a strong background in building and optimizing data pipelines, excellent SQL skills, and handson expertise with Snowflake, dbt, and modern ELT practices. Adept at breaking down work, mentoring Data Engineers, and delivering scalable, highquality data solutions in complex enterprise environments.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • TheSenior Data Platform Engineerwould have at least 6+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering, with senior or lead experience

  • College degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related fields.

  • A college degree may be substituted by sufficient years of experience in the health care industry.

  • Experience with a business area that is supported by this position is preferred (i.e., Provider Network and Contract Management, Digital Solutions, Pricing, Membership, Claims, etc.).

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Attributes (Not limited to):

  • Deep expertise with Snowflake (strongly preferred), SQL and SQL/Python stored procedures, dbt or other ETL tools, ELT/ETL design patterns, and orchestration (Airflow or similar).

  • Strong data modeling (dimensional, normalized, and denormalized), pipeline design, performance optimization, and integration/migration expertise.

  • Data Profiling: Must be able to identify unique and primary keys and determine cardinality, data type, precision, and scale, and skew.

  • Experience with DataOps, CI/CD, semantic layers, metadata management, observability, streaming, and AI/agentic enablement.

  • Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and enterprise platform ownership.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration across teams (Product, QA, Analytics, Business).

  • Ability to mentor, establish best practices, and influence technical decisions; proactive problem-solving and innovation.

  • Ability to think big, envision the work from the entire scope, and work down to into the details.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in healthcare or complex enterprise data environments.

  • DevOps/DataOps proficiency

  • Exposure to budgeting/cost management and cross-team initiatives.

What You Will Do at Cambia (Not limited to):

  • Lead and mentor Data Engineers; drive engineering standards and best practices.

  • Independently design, build, tune, and own scalable Snowflake ELT pipelines, data models (with Modeling team), and platform artifacts supporting analytics/operational workloads.

  • Optimize performance (query tuning, compute sizing, workload isolation, cost management).

  • Partner with analytics, product, governance, QA, and business teams to deliver high-quality, observable data solutions.

  • Contribute to platform strategy, risk assessments, and adoption of modern practices (DataOps, CI/CD, AI tools).

  • Ensure data quality, testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

  • Demonstrate technical leadership by breaking down complex work and delivering value in squad/model environments.

Pay ranges vary based on the candidate's work location. The expected hiring range depends on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; and performance history.

Senior Data Platform Engineer:

  • Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho:The expected hiring range is $114,000 - $143,000, the full salary range is $114,000 - $186,000, and the bonus target is20%.

  • North Dakota:The expected hiring range is $101,000 - $134,000, and the full salary range is $101,000 - $167,000.
