Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As Service Integration and Operation Support Engineer, you will have technical responsibility for the fleet of gas turbine engines currently in commercial operation. This includes supporting and collaborating on technical recommendations, risk assessments, troubleshooting, issue resolution, solution development, and other relevant functions. Service Engineering is responsible for providing technical support to the field service technical team at various locations around the globe.
As an RCA lead/support, you will be managing one or more technical failure investigations - from early issue identification to conclusion, also assisting with mitigation/solution/redesign development efforts.
How You'll Make an Impact / Component Integration Service Engineer
  • Develop technical solutions/instructions in response to site, and repair facility issues.
  • Lead/support product and procedure improvements to minimize non-conformances and cost saving measures (both proactive and reactive).
  • Developing knowledge of cold components component design and life technical issues.
  • Collaboration and training with subject matter experts as needed.
Note: If you are already a subject matter expert, there is potential for significant business development opportunities within cold components or something new pending on interest.
  • Develop, present and discuss recommendations with commercial teams and external customers.
  • Leadership opportunities on special projects and investigation of field events.

How You'll Make an Impact / RCA Lead
  • Lead/Support RCA - collaborate with your team members, component experts etc., define and coordinate investigation, derive conclusions - root cause, contributing factors, define mitigation measures.
  • Reduce NCC's and help improve financials.
  • Create RCA report and/or presentation. Technical presentations to the customers on different issues.
  • Significantly improve customer satisfaction.

What You Bring
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 10+ years large gas turbine (LGT) experience
  • Technical leadership experience which includes the development and execution of solutions for field issues
  • Commercial knowledge of gas turbine contracts and project management are also a plus.
  • Applicants will be able to travel (domestic and international) in support of technical issues and customer meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a strong interest in learning, with at least basic program management skills and good team working skills.
  • A high level of social competence and team spirit as well as ability to structure and analyze, motivation and persistence.
  • Basic knowledge of metallic materials and mechanical integrity preferred.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and conducting formal presentations.
  • Candidate must have the ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines on time.
  • Teamwork skills: Be comfortable leading an expert team from multiple time zones and cultures to answer technical questions and to perform risk assessments.
  • Networking skills: Ability to establish relationships and build networks in a global team setup and interface with other groups across the organization.
