Job description

The Indiana University (IU) School of Nursing is annually ranked among the top nursing schools in the nation. Founded in 1914, the school offers programs from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through the doctorate program and is composed of campuses in Bloomington, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis. IU School of Nursing rose to number 13 in the nation for undergraduate nursing programs in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, up 26 spots from the previous year.
Job Summary
The Part-Time Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of a funded nursing research study at the IU School of Nursing. This position works closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team to ensure the study is conducted in compliance with institutional, regulatory, and sponsor requirements.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Oversees day-to-day study operations
  • Prepares Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and related regulatory documents
  • Maintains timelines

  • Supports data and reporting activities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • Bachelor's degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
  • 1 year of clinical research experience
Preferred
  • Experience in research coordination, project management, healthcare administration, communication science or a related field
  • Experience with budget tracking and subcontract management
SKILLS
Required
  • Knowledge of IRB processes and research compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams at once
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear progress reports and meeting materials
  • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team spanning music therapy, nursing, communication science, and hospital administration
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
