ABOUT ENERGY PROJECT PARTNERS

Energy Project Partners (EPP) is a rapidly expanding energy project services firm providing project management, owner's representation, field services, QA/QC, digital solutions, and technical consulting across a broad range of major capital and utility-scale energy projects in the U.S. Through our integrated divisions - EPP Resources, EPP Field Services, and EPP Digital Solutions - we combine people, processes, and technology to deliver industry-leading results.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager leads owner's representative project management on EPP's most complex major capital and utility-scale energy projects as a senior member of the Project Management Solutions (PMS) team. Acting on behalf of the owner, the Senior PM manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across the project lifecycle - from development and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout - protecting the owner's interests and driving disciplined execution.

This is a senior, client-facing, billable delivery role. Reporting to the Director - Resource Solutions, the Senior PM serves as the owner's primary project leader, coordinates the EPC contractor and other stakeholders, and applies EPP's owner's-rep project management methodology. Senior PMs also mentor less-experienced project managers and set the delivery standard.

Reports to: Director - Resource Solutions Division: EPP Resources, LLC - Project Management Solutions (PMS)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Owner's Representative Project Leadership
  • Serve as the owner's senior project leader on complex utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects, directing execution of all site activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and risk on behalf of the owner, and oversee EPC contractor performance and accountability.
  • Manage the owner's on-site quality-control team (site manager and civil and electrical specialists) and ensure QA/QC and safety, including OSHA compliance, are implemented and documented.
Pre-Construction, Constructability & EPC Strategy
  • Provide senior technical input to mid- and late-stage development - constructability assessment, micrositing site visits, construction-document review, quality-control process development, and Procore optimization.
  • Lead technical input to EPC contract negotiations and develop and review technical contract exhibits.
  • Support due diligence, permitting, and design optimization with Engineering, Development, Procurement, and Finance.
Schedule, Budget, Cost & Risk
  • Own the project schedule and budget (with Project Controls support); resolve delays and drive recovery of variances.
  • Manage, approve, and control invoices, costs, change orders, claims, contingency, and cash flow within the approved budget.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalation project risks.
Stakeholders, Contracts & Financing
  • Coordinate the owner, owner's engineer, independent engineers, EPC contractor, utilities, AHJs, and vendors, and manage utility interconnection.
  • Lead recurring project and stakeholder meetings and produce executive-level monthly construction reporting on status, schedule, and cost.
  • Coordinate with independent engineers to close open items supporting on-time financial closure, and manage documentation for stakeholder and financing needs.
Commissioning, Closeout & Turnover
  • Oversee commissioning, energization, substantial completion, final service acceptance inspections, and punch-list close-out.
  • Transition projects to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Asset Management.
  • Conduct Lessons Learned reviews and report out to the construction group.
Delivery Standards & Mentorship
  • Apply and uphold EPP's owner's-rep project management methodology and contribute to PM standards and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor Project and Associate Managers and set the delivery standard.
  • Support proposals, scoping, and staffing for pursuits.
QUALIFICATIONS Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of project management experience on major capital or utility-scale projects, including senior or lead PM responsibility.
  • Strong command of scope, schedule, budget, contracts, risk, cost control, and invoice/change management, and the ability to read technical designs, studies, and specifications.
  • Experience managing EPC contractors, owner's and independent engineers, and on-site owner's QC teams, and supporting project financing and on-time financial closure.
  • Proficiency with MS Project / Primavera P6, Procore, and Microsoft 365; strong client-facing communication.
