Position Overview

Summary:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering a range of projects, including new client implementations, Professional Services engagements, and larger enterprise initiatives that involve multiple departments. The Senior Project Manager works closely with the Business Analyst team and with stakeholders throughout the company to keep projects on schedule and aligned with business goals. Day to day, this means defining project scope, building and maintaining project plans, coordinating resources, and managing risk. The role also includes keeping project records accurate in Salesforce and helping the company adopt AI to improve how it manages projects.

As Senior Project Manager you will:

  • Lead new client implementations of the FreightWise TMS, managing scope, timeline, resourcing, and stakeholder communication from kickoff through go-live and the handoff to support.
  • Act as the main project contact for clients during onboarding, setting clear expectations and keeping communication consistent throughout the engagement.
  • Lead Professional Services projects in partnership with the Business Analyst team, turning client requirements into clear project plans, deliverables, and milestones, and seeing them through to completion.
  • Coordinate configuration, integration, and optimization work across teams so that engagements are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage interdepartmental enterprise projects for FreightWise, leading work that spans Operations, Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Experience, and Finance.
  • Set up the governance, meeting schedules, and reporting needed to keep stakeholders across departments aligned and accountable.
  • Keep project and engagement records accurate and current in Salesforce.
  • Build and improve Salesforce reports and dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into project status, resource use, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Help the company adopt AI tools and put them to use in ways that improve current project management and Operations practices.
  • Look for practical opportunities to apply AI to everyday work such as project intake, status reporting, documentation, and resource planning.
  • Develop project scope and objectives, involving the relevant stakeholders and confirming technical feasibility.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, and make sure resources are available and assigned appropriately.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, and identify, communicate, and address risks and issues as they come up.
  • Track project performance using appropriate metrics, systems, and tools.
  • Report and escalate risks, issues, and roadblocks to leadership when needed.
  • Create and maintain thorough project documentation.

As Senior Project manager you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.)
  • 4-6 years of related project management experience or training
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Proven ability to manage several projects at once across different teams and competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to present to executives, clients, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, including building and improving reports and dashboards.
  • Experience with project management software, with Smartsheet strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading technical projects, particularly software projects, preferred.
  • Proficiency with common business tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in helping the company adopt AI and apply it to improve project management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data and financial figures such as budgets, margins, and utilization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and help others meet their deadlines.
  • Knowledge of TMS, logistics, supply chain, or managed services is a plus.
  • Ability to sit, stand, talk, hear, use hands, occasionally walk, reach, lift objects weighing less than 25 pounds, withstand noise level in work environment which is moderate.
