Primary Purpose:
This role is a proactive leadership role that is responsible for all project services functions and resources in the project. The Senior Project Controls Manager position should bring an assurance to the company that the project meets all commercial, financial, documentation, cost and schedule requirements utilizing Project Controls best practices. This position serves as a point of contact for the Vice President of Project Management, reporting operationally to the Director of Project Controls.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The duties of the Senior Project Controls Manager are generally described as coordinating and directing project controls teams on assigned projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and Implement Project Controls:
  • Develop and maintain project controls plans and procedures.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Implement and monitor cost control and performance measurement methodologies.
  • Develop and manage change control procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Supervise and mentor project controls staff.
  • Coordinate work with other project team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong organization skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present project performance reports (cost, schedule, and quality).
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, issues, and potential risks.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Maintain risk registers and track risk mitigation plans.
  • Contract Administration:
  • Review and manage contracts, including change orders, invoices, and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project controls effectiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Ability to liaise and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate project status and performance effectively.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent with 15+ years or more of experience will also qualify and be considered for this role.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
  • This position requires 15 more years of relevant industrial experience in project controls, cost controls, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, and project management.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities in multiple offices of the company. A proven ability to manage multi-office project execution.

  • Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver on commitments.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Working Conditions:
Travel to field locations may be required but is estimated to be less than 10% of time. Department members will have a heavy workload, with unplanned overtime and changes in work priorities; multiple projects with short turnaround time are common.

โ€ข The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
